PostTag brings in senior sales pro to maintain growth momentum
PostTag, the destination data engine, has welcomed sales guru Andy Bishton to its expanding team as it looks to maintain its growth momentum. PostTag has seen sales of its market leading product soar in recent months, driven in no small part by the growing recognition from transport and logistics firms of the need to improve driver efficiency and reduce their carbon footprints.
Andy brings over two decades of sales experience and vast knowledge of international and national distribution to his new role. He joins from Yodel where he served as a Senior Account Director. He began his career at GeoPost UK as a Strategic Account Manager where he was responsible for the distribution for Vodafone, 3 and ASOS.
Each year in the UK, delivery van drivers rack up 52.2 billion miles and pump 13 billion kilograms of CO2 into the air. While car miles have stayed broadly the same over the last few years, van traffic has increased dramatically thanks largely to the surge in internet sales.
However, PostTag analysis shows drivers are on the road for a lot longer than they need to be because half the time address data is sending them to locations more than 50 metres away – almost the length of a football pitch. They are then forced to waste time, fuel and miles manually hunting for the right address.
PostTag’s destination data system could slash annual emissions by 262 million kilograms – the same as taking 56,000 cars off the road – by getting drivers to the right address first time, every time.
ArrowXL, the two-man delivery company, has signed up and is already seeing an increase in driver efficiency and reduction in CO2.
Andy Bishton, Senior Sales Manager, PostTag, said:
“The rise in online shopping and customer expectations for next day – if not same day – delivery have led to a surge in the number of vans our roads and increase in CO2 emissions.
“If the UK hopes to meet the government’s net zero target for emissions by 2050, we must all work together to get these statistics down. PostTag can help significantly – and I am excited to be working with them as they help businesses tackle this challenge head on.”
Paul Yewman, CEO, PostTag, said:
“We’re so pleased to have Andy as part of the team as we work to sign up more companies to our system and we’re confident Andy will be able to use his market knowledge and extensive network of contacts to maintain our sales momentum.”
