PERENNIAL FREIGHT CHOOSES CAMERA TELEMATICS FOR ADVANCED MULTI-CAMERA SOLUTION FOR ITS COMMERCIAL FLEET
Perennial Freight, a leading Irish road transport specialist with daily services to the UK and mainland Europe, has adopted a sophisticated multi-camera system to support driver welfare, reduce insurance costs and operate responsibly. The company has teamed up with Camera Telematics to roll out the technology solution across 85 HGVs that operate from three locations in the Republic of Ireland.
“We are committed to embracing the latest innovations to develop and operate a modern, high-performing transport fleet,” explains Norbert Antal, VMU and Purchasing Manager at Perennial Freight. “Our camera system plays a key role within the operation, helping to mitigate operational risk and better manage insurance costs, so it is crucial for us to work with the right technology partner that can deliver an industry-leading system.”
The Camera Telematics solution will replace a previous video system that no longer meets the needs of Perennial Freight in terms of reliability, functionality and cost. Taking advantage of the iC360 Multi-Camera System, the company will install a 5-channel mobile digital video recorder (MDVR) with connected forward-facing, near-side and off-side devices. Camera Telematics is also working closely with Perennial Freight to finetune reporting processes to ensure the most effective maintenance support and data capture.
Perennial Freight will be using the multi-camera system to provide added visibility for vehicles and drivers when they are out on the road. This is already enabling an office-based team to effectively investigate and, where appropriate, challenge and resolve incoming complaints, insurance claims and operational issues. As a result, the company can rapidly determine liability, avoid reputational damage and safeguard customer relationships, while making time and cost-savings.
Miriam Kelly, Claims and Accounts Administrator at Perennial Freight commented: “The usability of Camera Telematics’ Advanced Reporting and Viewing Software is allowing us to quickly respond to any issues involving our vehicles, so we can best protect the business and our drivers. For example, the ability to search for footage by location, as well as time, dramatically reduces the effort needed to pinpoint an incident and streamline our administrative processes.”
Mark Stamper, Director of Camera Telematics, said: “Perennial Freight needed a highly functional and cost-effective multi-camera system that would deliver road safety and insurance improvements, while supporting their duty of care commitments. By combining high-quality service with innovative vehicle camera technology, we have been able to work closely with them to implement an advanced solution and meet their precise requirements.”
