The BCMPA – the Association for Contract Manufacturing, Packing, Fulfilment & Logistics – has kicked off 2025 with a highly successful first quarter, marked by its success and industry endorsement of its #outsourcingis campaign.
Launched at this year’s Packaging Innovations & Empack Show, the #outsourcingis campaign has quickly captured the industry’s attention by showcasing how outsourcing helps brands, retailers, and startups bring their products to market efficiently, while allowing them to focus on core operations and scale quickly. The fun campaign has generated a surge in social media engagement, sparked widespread discussion, and received positive testimonials from key players.
Its impact has been further strengthened by real-world success stories from BCMPA members, shared through video interviews that highlight what outsourcing truly means for both members and their brand and retail customers.
Joanne Taylor, Commercial & Sales Director at Lemonpath, described outsourcing as “providing contract packing and logistics services for a diverse range of market sectors, backed by deep industry knowledge and expertise.”
Likewise, Erik Molinario, Founder & Director at Project 7, summed it up in two words: “speed and value,” for brands and retailers.
Laura Ball, Marketing & Business Development Director at PHL Group, illustrated outsourcing in numbers, sharing that their team picks and dispatches over 120,000 handmade Christmas crackers during peak season.
Sophie Thomas, Business Development Manager at Complete Co-Pack, highlighted the scale of their operations, “from minimum order quantities (MOQs) of 10,000 bottles to up to 100,000 units a week.”
The BCMPA’s mission received a welcome boost on BBC’s Dragon’s Den, with renowned investor and entrepreneur Peter Jones, endorsing co-packing as the future of production. In a standout moment from the episode, Peter advised contestants to shift away from in-house production and embrace outsourcing – a message that directly aligns with the #outsourcingis campaign’s core objective.
“This validation from Peter Jones is a game-changer,” said Emma Verkaik, CEO of the BCMPA. “His endorsement on a national platform highlights what we’ve always championed – that outsourcing is not just a convenience, but a necessity for sustainable business growth.”
The BCMPA marked its biggest-ever presence at Packaging Innovations & Empack where it celebrated 25 years of championing outsourcing. With over 20 BCMPA members exhibiting in the Contract Pack & Fulfilment Zone, the event featured live demonstrations, expert panels, and key networking opportunities. Emma Verkaik also played a leading role in the conference, presenting at the 2025 Future Trailblazers Awards and hosting a fireside chat on ‘Scaling Without the Stress: How Outsourced Fulfilment Drives Business Growth’.
Building on this momentum, the BCMPA’s next major exhibition is at CHEMUK on May 21& 22, at the NEC, where the focus will shift to outsourcing solutions for the chemical industry. With tailored insights and industry-specific discussions, BCMPA continues to drive collaboration and innovation in every sector it serves.
“The success of the #outsourcingis campaign highlights the growing recognition of the vital role our industry plays in modern business strategy. During economic uncertainty, third-party solutions are increasingly seen as the preferred approach. As the BCMPA expands its reach and influence, it remains committed to driving industry-wide collaboration helping more companies unlock the benefits of outsourcing,” concluded Emma Verkaik.
