Holmen selects TimberTec, an Iptor company, as its SaaS-based timber ERP partner
TimberTec chosen due to unique competencies and resources
TimberTec, an Iptor company, announces today that Holmen Wood Products, a leading supplier of high-quality products from sustainably managed forests, has selected TimberTec’s SaaS-based Timber Commerce ERP suite. The suite will support both Holmen’s sawmills and facilities for wood processing including glulam and CLT production sites in Sweden. This represents TimberTec’s first new, large customer since it joined Iptor in 2021 and began to implement a strategy of expanding in the Nordics by leveraging Iptor’s strong regional footprint and upgrading customers from Iptor’s Wood ERP system.
Holmen, whose wood products are prized by the joinery and construction industry all over the world, has been supported by Iptor for more than 20 years and this partnership will now continue as Holmen shows their confidence in TimberTec. In addition, this enables TimberTec to build its timber market presence in the Nordic region where the industry is at the centre of the shift towards a sustainable net zero future. Timber Commerce is already the premium ERP for the European timber industry with a leading market share of volume sawn timber, and with another of Europe’s top sawmill companies implementing Timber Commerce, TimberTec is set to maintain this market leadership.
The shift towards a sustainable net zero future creates opportunities as well as challenges and a modern, cloud-based, industry specific ERP solution is fundamental to managing these. TimberTec’s solution brings unique functionality in planning and optimization, developed together with leading universities, which will enable Holmen to maintain its strong position in these critical areas of production.
The project will commence in early 2023 and all production facilities will be upgraded in due course. The project will be delivered by TimberTec’s dedicated Nordic team, ensuring they bring their specialist expertise to the project and create even stronger support for Holmen’s business processes and future success. This combination of a premium, timber industry specific, complete ERP solution and local resources and knowledge represents a unique offering in the market.
“We have had a long and valued collaboration with Holmen, which means that we understand the business, employees and future challenges. I am very pleased that we are now continuing the collaboration and that we will have the opportunity to contribute to the long-term success of Holmen Wood Products,” says Kristian Niklasson, President of TimberTec Nordics.
Johan Hedin, Marketing Director Holmen Wood Products, adds “We are confident that TimberTec not only has the technical expertise but also has the local market knowledge and resources to continue to be our long-term, trusted ERP partner.”
