Successful TCS&D show returns to its roots

Taking place for the fifth time, the bi-annual Temperature Controlled Storage & Distribution (TCS&D) Exhibition & Conference is returning to its original location at the East of England Arena in Peterborough.

Interest in the UK’s only dedicated event for the cold storage and distribution sector is already hotting up. “We’re delighted to have secured the support of a number of key trade associations,” said Exhibition Director, Martyn Cogan, “including the British Frozen Food Federation, the Food Storage & Distribution Federation, the FreightTransport Association, the Road Haulage Association and the Institute of Refrigeration.”

Innovation and education
Being held on 25 & 26 June, TCS&D 2019 has been designed to secure maximum benefit for all participants. “We’re committed to creating a great experience for exhibitors and visitors alike,” explained Martyn Cogan. “As well as a large number of stands, which will showcase the latest innovations in the temperature controlled storage and distribution sector, the event will feature no less than four streams of free-to-attend seminars.” The programme of seminars – which will take place in the Innovation Hub, the Storage & Transport Hub, the Big Issues Hub and the Refrigeration Hub – will feature up to 40 speakers from across the industry over the two days, covering topics relevant to the chilled and frozen food, pharmaceutical and haulage sectors. “We’re also very excited to be adding extra value by providing access to videos of the seminars after the event for everyone who visited the show,” added Martyn Cogan. “What’s more, on the second day of the show we will be celebrating World Refrigeration Day. Taking place on 26 June every year, World Refrigeration Day – @WorldRefDay on Twitter – was founded by former President of the Institute of Refrigeration (IOR), Stephen Gill. Amongst the World Refrigeration Day celebrations at TCS&D, the IOR and ACRIB (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Industry Board) will be running a series of workshops and will also be live-streaming selected seminars internationally to promote this global industry awareness campaign.”

Gala awards evening
In addition, the annual TCS&D Awards will take place on the evening of the first day of the show. Commented Richard Cogan, fellow Director and Publisher of Frozen & Chilled Foods and TCS&D magazines, “Recognising excellence in the perishable supply chain in a variety of categories, the TCS&D Awards are a great opportunity to reward success across our industry, as well as a chance for executives to network with their peers. With over 300 tickets already sold, it promises to be another fantastic night.”

Brand-new features
The TCS&D show will see the introduction of new features including a demonstration area to showcase the latest material handling equipment for cold stores and a ‘Ride & Drive Experience’ track in the outside display area. “We’re also introducing a new concierge service,” said Martyn Cogan, “allowing visitors to seek help in being introduced to the right person to discuss their particular needs. There will be an opportunity to book appointments either online or at a booth at the entrance to the show.”

A combination of the show’s well-established reputation and active promotion on social media (hashtag #TCSD19) mean that interest in the event has been high.
